Alaska - Day 10

We spent our 10th day in Alaska driving the rest of the way to Valdez.  Just before heading down into Valdez we were pleased to come upon Thompson Pass. We were pretty sure it would be awesome because it was clearly a pass just for us.  Our first stop  at almost the top of the pass was Worthington Glacier. It is right off the road. Anyone can view it from the road and anyone can hike right up to it which is pretty cool for those people who don't get off the main roadways most of the time.

At the very top of the pass we hiked on a service road to get good 360 view of the Chugach Mountains all around us and this glacier on the right which I believe is called Slide Glacier.

Finally, as we descended into Valdez we went through Keystone Canyon which is littered with long waterfalls that practically fall onto the road on one side and right into the Lowe River on the other side.

Our campsite for the next few nights was at Blueberry Lake at the top of the pass. We had incredible views.
