We have a few big summer adventures coming our way, so I decided to do a quick catch up on our previous adventures...mostly with pictures. Brent posted the first part of our Escalante trip in Coyote Gulch. The fun continued at Peek-a-Boo and Spooky Canyons along Hole-In-The-Rock Road. It was awesome. My mom thought they were super cool. Gavin was a little sleep deprived and obsessed with his mom and dad at at the time so he could be heard for miles around screaming at the top of his lungs as we passed him and his pack through the skinniest parts of the slot canyons. Lindsey only experienced a minor anxiety attack at the thought of a flash flood coming through the canyon (there wasn't a cloud in the sky). We also found a great little snake with his head halfway in the sand. Always a fun place to go.

We spent our last night outside of Bryce National Park and then went into the park the next morning for a quick hike through. My mom kept pointing out how many great examples of erosion there were. Such a great teacher. When she got home she did have a slideshow presentation for her class and off course they loved it. I also think she described the trip well as we were talking about her favorite part of the trip on the drive home. She said she love it all. She probably loved Coyote Gulch best because it was just awesome. She loved Bryce because it was awe inspiring. She loved the slot canyons because they were so fun. And I think we would have all agree with her assessment.
This picture clearly illustrated the I am the world's worst jumper, my mom is really good at balancing, Jace and Brent are awesome (even if Jace's jump pose for jumping shots are all exactly the same), and Gavin is in a league of his own. He doesn't even have to a facial expression to look great.
Moving on. We went camping last weekend at Ledgefork Campground with my mom. You would think she lives here or something. She might as well. Look at the fun she is having. It was the first time we had been to this campground but we'll definitely go back. We camped right next a little/big creek. We scavanged wood, walked all around, played extreme bocce ball, played games, did puzzles, threw hatchets at wood, sling shot pop cans, played ladderball, ate good food, swam in freezing cold water (Jace and Brent), and kayaked. Gavin spent the majority of the time pushing the stroller, eating small rocks, and playing do dominos.

And finally, our annual hiking of Silver Lake in American Fork Canyon. We'll be in Alaska on the 24th of July which is when we normally go so instead we went now and took my mom on another adventure. The new outback exceeded our expectations on the dirty/bumpy road. It was pretty cool being there earlier in the year because there were more waterfalls. The wild flowers weren't as impressive but you can't see everything all at once I suppose. You'll also notice me risking my life in the raging river to pick up some trash. That is also a yearly tradition on this trail to pick up all the trash we see along the way. We do this a lot, but we work especially hard at it on this trail.
Well, there you have an update on what we've been doing. Hopefully I haven't bored you too much with my writing and that the pictures have been at least somewhat enjoyable to look at. I think Brent does a pretty great job.
