Goblin Valley

On a whim we decided to visit the San Rafael Swell in Utah and see some goblins with Lindsey, Jace and Gavin. We camped in a little cove just outside of Goblin Valley. It appeared to be an area that if it turned windy would be well protected. Later we found that to not be true. Our first day we walked around Goblin Valley and it was really cool to walk with the goblins. We woke up the next morning and hiked Little Wild Horse Canyon and Bell Canyon and than went to hike Ding and Dang which we only made it up Ding due to Dang being log jammed. That night the wind picked up and our little cove did not protect us as much as we wished. We still were able to enjoy a roaring fire but when we went to bed the wind did not stop like the night before. It just kept on gusting covering everything in the tent with a layer of sand including us. Ashley words in the middle of the night were "This is the worst night of my life." I did not find it so but Ashley was against the edge of the tent which was flapping as well. We had to wake up early to insure I got home in time for an interview but no one complained when six thirty rolled around and my alarm went off. I believe we were all a little awake and glad that our windy dust covered tent and faces could shake of the dust and start a new day.

  1. First off, red rock dust from southern Utah is just natures own spray tan, you shouldn't complain. Secondly, is Ashley vandalizing that 2 million year old rock??? So much for poster children of the national park system...
