This year we decided not to do the Wasatch Back and do the Epic Relay from Logan to Jackson Hole. For a variety of reasons: price, amount of people, and why not try something new. It was amazing and as it says it was Epic. Now it is Ashley's and my favorite overnight relay. Ashley and I prepared by eating lots of food and hanging out on the beach at Bear Lake the week before and running about once a week up to this point but we did great and had lots of fun. Our team got ninth over all and placed first in the family competition. Every time it is time to race I wonder why I am doing this and every time I finish the race I say wow that was really fun lets do it again.
Even though the main complaint for the first run was the heat, the girls found it a bit chilly just a short time after their runs. So, they deemed it necessary to absorb some of the heat from off the road.
The night run for Jace was in the upper forties to fifties so I decided that a t-shirt and shorts would be great. Little did I know that it was going to drop to freezing on my run as I ran down the canyon near the stream.
The finish is always Epic!
